A North East Photography Network (NEPN) commission & exhibition late 2019 at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens.

April 4, 2019

A  photographic research project exploring the natural world illuminated by artificial light and inspired by the historical ideas of Victorian Joseph Swan. Swan’s enduring experimental curiosity led him to be the notable inventor of the electric light bulb, changing our experience and vision of the world forever. The exhibition will draw on his enduring spirit of enquiry, by adopting his key Victorian principles of observation and experimentation, with a photographic response to captured visual nuances, descriptions and the hidden details of natural forms revealed by artificial light. Supported by the Arts Council England.
